Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Below you will find a letter from our Director of Diversity & Inclusion as well as Delta Gamma's Positional Statement on Inclusivity.
By the values outlined in Article II of the Delta Gamma Constitution, our initiative of diversity, equity, and inclusion guide us in promoting cultural interests throughout the chapter and creating a true sense of social responsibility. These values hold the members of Delta Gamma to a higher standard of social awareness and inclusivity. DG is committed to providing a welcoming and equitable space for our members and potential new members alike. We strive to make certain that we value each sister for her individuality and educate ourselves when we fall short.
Our differences are what makes our sisterhood strong; we strive to put our chapter’s values into action, as we work toward a more inclusive future. As Delta Gammas, we show our dedication through our varied involvement on UNL’s campus and in our Lincoln community. We are committed to working with diverse organizations on campus to educate each other and grow together by embracing new perspectives.
As members of Delta Gamma, we do not just acknowledge but celebrate our differences to foster a greater sense of belonging among our fraternity. We aspire to break boundaries and crush stereotypes to provide a more equitable future for everyone. One way we promote genuine learning in our chapter is through “DG Dialogues”, where we engage in conversations with one another over topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This provides a safe space, with supportive friendships between one another. A timely bulletin covering global, national, and local events is distributed to encourage personal growth through social education. Nationwide, Delta Gamma women can connect on Facebook groups like DG Women of Color and DG Rainbow. Our individuality and values define our shared identity as Delta Gammas, which is what inspires us to “Do Good” for all.
